Sky Fun Amusement Park at Sky Ranch Tagaytay

I had a quick rainy/summer getaway to Batangas this week–one of those spontaneous travels initiated by my beau. Since my sister was raving about how “Tagaytay’s Anchor’s Away is much better than EK’s,” I made sure I get to check what she’s talking about.

Probably another reason to visit Tagaytay is the Sky Fun Amusement Park. It boasts the current tallest ferris wheel in the country, The Sky Eye, at 63 meters (207 ft) with 32 gondolas, beating the MOA Eye at 55 meters (180 ft), and the Enchanted Kingdom’s Wheel of Fate at 130ft.

Entrance is Php100, but we were able to avail of the 50% off promo until May 31. They have no ride-all-you-can option. You would have to pay per ride. At Php150 per head, I think the Sky Eye is the most boring ride ever.

This view of Taal Lake is not enough for a consolation. Bleh.

Eating Kettle Korn is so much more awesome than being up there.

Now, on to the Super Viking aka the “Anchor’s Away better than Anchor’s Away.”

At first glance, it does not seem to be scarier than Anchor’s Away. I even think that Anchor’s Away is bigger than this. At Php100 per head, it was a no-brainer for us to try this ride.
When you are seated at the back-most row (where we sat, of course), the swing of the boat would take you to a 90 degree angle from the ground.

Maybe it was the altitude or the pressure from being 2,000 ft above sea level, this made the ride more thrilling than Anchor’s Away. It was so nakaka-kilig that my beau and I weren’t able to take pictures while riding on the Super Viking.

As a consolation prize, we took pictures riding the Mini Viking (Php50 per head).
The rest of the rides in Sky Fun are for kids. So, if ever, paying a ride-all-you-can for adults would not be worth it. Anyway, if you decide swing by Tagaytay soon, be sure to check out Sky Fun Amusement Park. It’s near Taal Vista Lodge and Casino Filipino Tagaytay.

I think they dont give much care about kids riding the vikings. Pinapayagan nila mga batang sumakay when it was a bit dangerous i think it must strictly for adults. Like in ek na sinusukat ang bata bago pumila. Dun they will not ask sino sasakay gano na kataas ilang taon etc.. I saw a lot of kids na sumakay and were ver afraid and nauseated after…. I know it must be d parent’s responsibili but then since pinayagan sila pasakayin ung bata e parang sinasabi din nila na kaya at pwede but the truth is, not really for kids…
