CW Beauty Talk: Holiday Makeup Guide

CW Beauty Talk

Dear Couchwasabi,

I enjoy reading your product reviews from beauty products to gadgets. I feel we are so much alike in so many ways. Anyway, I just want to know, what are your tips for doing makeup this holiday season? I noticed you have not posted any holiday look guide. I hope you answer to my request. Thanks!

Hi Yeng!

LoL. Yes. I guess I have not posted any “holiday makeup guide” yet…. so here goes! But wait, actually, I think makeup should be dependent on your personality and not about the season.

Normally, I’d go for the “no-makeup”Β  makeup look. You see, I was a late-bloomer. I’ve only learned doing makeup recently when I started working in the beauty industry. Eyeshadows and eyeliners used to be strangers to me.

In a nutshell, when you say holiday makeup, I envision lots of shimmer and glitters. If you’re the Tessa Prieto-type, your makeup looks can go a little more extravagantly festive with bedazzlers and jewel stickers.

I’ll try to post a holiday look soon. But, top of mind, holiday makeup is made easy by Virginia Olsen’s Holiday collection. It’s a collection of seven iridescent colors perfect to add shimmer on your peepers for that instant holiday feel. If you want a bolder look, you can always go for some smokey eye then pop a dash of color with your blue or green liner on the lower lids.

What I love about Virginia Olsen is that it’s an all-natural makeup brand–no parabens, no irritants–nothing bad for the skin. Plus, they recently released their organic lipstick and lipgloss collection. Their lipsticks are unbelievably moisturizing yet the staying-power is amazing.

And don’t miss out on their affordable glossies. What’s cool about Virginia Olsen’s glossies is that it’s infused with gold micro-glitters. The adorable glossy and glittery finish spells nothing but H-O-L-I-D-A-Y!

Check out Virginia Olsen and tell me what you think.πŸ™‚
