PhotoBlog: 2Go Travel Bloggers Meet (Iloilo – Bacolod) Part 1

I have never been to Ilo-ilo and Bacolod. So when I received 2GO Travel’s invite last week, it was a no-brainer for me to say yes and join the trip.πŸ™‚

In case you didn’t know, 2GO Travel is the new brand name of the country’s leading passenger ships Negros Navigation, Superferry, Cebu Ferries, and SuperCat. Since it’s my first time to ride a boat, I was really looking forward to my Visayas trip with 2GO Travel.

Last November 19, we were asked to be at The Hub by 10am. The Hub is 2GO Travel’s upscale lounge facility located at the Bulwagan ng Kagitingan, Rizal Park, Luneta, Manila. Passengers occupying cabins and state rooms, as well as group passengers, can stay and chill at The Hub while waiting for the free shuttle that will transport them to the ships.

Welcoming remarks from 2GO Travel COO and VP Mr. Stephen Tagud

Shortly after having our brunch and after being welcomed byΒ 2GO Travel COO and VP Mr. Stephen Tagud, the beautiful pink 2GO shuttle arrived to transport us from The Hub to Manila North Port, where 2GO’s vessels are stationed.

I have always imagined our sea ports to be just like those in Filipino movies–messy, uncomfortable and horrific. I never knew our ports in Manila can be this clean. It was actually nice and dandy.

Manila North Harbor Port, Inc. offers a terminal similar to that of an airport. It is a modern shipping passenger terminal with modern facilities such as air-condition, comfortable seating, food and beverage concessions.

Upon boarding, we were given a chance to tour the ship and meet MV St. Michael the Archangel vessel manager, Mr. Julius.

Another privilege access was for the bloggers to check out the Captain’s Bridge. Last stop was to check out the roof deck. This is also not accessible to common passengers. After checking out the Captain’s Bridge and Roof Deck, we were given free time to have our dinner and prepare for the night’s most awaited Magenta Party.

Is this Magenta enough?

Come 9pm, the bloggers gathered in the vessel’s Event Room to have our videoke and Magenta party. Congratulations to Paul of http://paultheprguy.blogspot.com and Anne of http://annvassadress.tumblr.com, who eventually won Mr. and Ms. Best Dressed that night. They each received 2GO travel cards as their prize. The talented Paul the PR Guy won again for the night’s videoke challenge–to which he was able to bring home a pair of round-trip 2GO Travel Cards bound for Boracay.

The port has secured parking provision for travelers called β€œPark and Sail” so much like one in Domestic Airport. Travelers from Manila or Batangas who brought along their vehicle here, and does not wish to bring their vehicle to Caticlan may leave them at the port for a fee of 40 pesos/hour.

What a great time you had in this trip! Naalala ko tuloy yung travels ko to Coron and CDO before (for work) via Superferry. I enjoyed both trips tremendously, and didn’t get seasick at all! ΓΆ Thanks for sharing this, CW and it was nice meeting you last Monday too! Γ–
