Paula’s Choice: A Skin Care Affair

Paula’s Choice Skin Myth-busters:

1) You should not exfoliate daily.
WRONG: Since dead skin cells can accumulate every day, you should exfoliate daily. It’s just a matter of using the right exfoliant.

2) It is best to use scrubs to exfoliate the skin.
WRONG: Scrubs can cause micro-tears in your skin–yikes! It abrades away the surface, causing tiny tears that actually damage the skin’s barrier. This causes drier and dull-looking skin.

3) There should be a separate moisturizing product for the eye, aka eye crream.
WRONG: If it is safe for the face, why not use it for the eyes? Same with sunscreen/sunblock. You should never miss putting sunblock around the eyes. Make sure, though, to use products that are gentle enough to the face–including the eye area.

These are just some of the things I picked up yesterday during Paula’s Choice company launch.

Paula Begoun, dubbed as “The Cosmetics Cop,” is the founder and innovative force behind Paula’s Choice skin care and cosmetics. She is the author of 20 best-selling books on skin care, makeup, and hair care. Since 1995, Paula’s Choice has been giving hope to millions of women worldwide by providing quality but affordable skin care products. The brand only uses proven safe ingredients that can truly make your skin look younger and radiant as well as reduce wrinkles, lessen or eliminate acne, and work perfectly for those with sensitive skin.

Paula’s Choice products successfully treat everything from acne to wrinkles, rosacea, sensitive skin, sun damage, dry skin, oily skin, and blackheads. They are 100% guaranteed to work for your skin type and concerns! Each Paula’s Choice product is 100% fragrance-free, contains no added dyes, and is clinically proven to be non-irritating.

The intimate affair was a session filled with skin care myth-busters and enlightenment. More important than applying sunblock every-single-day, I was introduced to the importance of chemical exfoliation versus doing scrubs.

Paula’s Choice’s international best seller, BHA and AHA exfoliants, have been selling like hotcakes for more than 15 years now. I was lucky enough to receive their BHA exfoliating liquid, to which I will be doing a review soon. So stay tuned!

Another product showcased during the event is Paula’s Choice Shine Stopper. It wow-ed us beauty bloggers when the product instantly eliminated shine and oil within seconds of applying it. I think it’s one of the best mattifier I’ve seen available in the market. I’ll do a separate product review on this one, too.

Ms. Naree Mongkool, Paula’s Choice Managing Director, demonstrating Resist C15 Booster with a sliced apple

Resist C15 Super Booster is a topical Vitamin C best to rid brown spots and wrinkles. It improves the appearance of wrinkles and uneven skin tone. This 15% stabilized vitamin C includes potent anti-aging ingredients that promote firmer skin.

Ms. Naree, Paula’s Choice Managing Director, showed up the instant effects of the serum through an oxidized sliced apple. You can see that within seconds of application, the apple lightened up. The brown discoloration on the apple was significantly reduced–imagine the same effects on your skin with prolonged use!

To cap off the event, Ms. Naree (Managing Director), Mr. Gary (General Manager), and Paula’s Choice staff took a quick snap together with the bloggers who attended the event.
